A fast-draining, gritty coco coir blend formulated for cacti, succulents, and other drought-tolerant plants. Dries quickly between waterings to prevent root rot — the number one killer of succulents.
Succulents and cacti store water in their leaves and stems, so they need a growing medium that drains quickly and does not hold excess moisture. Standard potting compost stays too wet for too long, leading to root rot and fungal problems. Our Cactus & Succulent Mix combines buffered coco coir with coarse sand, perlite, and fine gravel to create an airy, fast-draining substrate that mimics the natural conditions these plants thrive in.
Fill your pot with the Cactus & Succulent Mix, leaving 1 cm from the rim. Repot your plant and firm gently around the base. Water sparingly and allow the mix to dry out completely between waterings. Ensure your pot has drainage holes — standing water will damage roots even in well-draining compost.
