Set the 5 kg brick in a large container — a wheelbarrow, mixing tub, or 90-litre storage box works well.

Pour approximately about 20 litres of warm water over the brick. It begins expanding within minutes.

After 20–30 minutes, break the expanded coir apart by hand. It is now ready to use as a standalone medium or blended with compost and perlite.
